Just a short heads up there campers.

Anti virus software, is yours up to date? We have seen a machine or two come into the shop and the problem is that their anti virus is a few months out, meaning that the subscription ran out in March and they are just now bringing it into us in May.

As those ads say: "Don't let this happen to you!".

It's simple really, check to make sure that your antivirus is up to date, make sure that you have updated the defintions on the antivirus and make sure you are using the one that LTOL subscribes to, PC-Cillin by Trend Micro.

How easy could this be, you can get the program from a link right here off the blog, off of the 'tool' section of our website or you can go to the PC-Cillin website. It really doesn't matter how you do it, just as long as you do it.

So, as the saying goes: "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

So, keep the weight off your computer and just do the ounce, not the pound.

Well, as they say all good things have to come to an end. We sadly have to raise our rates for our on-site, at your residence or business fees due to an increase in costs.

Short version: We use to charge 85.00 and hour, now we have to charge 95.00 an hour.

As far as we know that still makes us pretty gosh darn cheap to have a tech come to you and to get something done.

We are NOT raising our rates for in the shop service, that will stay at 75.00 an hour.

We have not raised our rates in years and it is due to raising costs that force us to do this, we hope you understand.

The price increase goes into effect on June 1st, 2007

Well Patty Brooke might not have won on ABC but as far as we here at LTOL are concerned she won HUGE, HUGE I tell you.

Let me first say, I have NO idea who Ms. Brooke is, I have never met her but she took something that she has a passion about and turned it into something really great, going as far as doing something she loves on national TV. No safety net, no 2nd guesses, but just went and did it. I'll also tell you I never got a chance to watch Ms. Brooke perform on ABC, I was at work during her performances but I did vote for her, we at LTOL made sure to have a link to the voting website and we supported her as much as we were able here in Truckee. I know that other businesses did as well, I saw a notice up at Florian's as well and I saw in the Florian's window the newspaper clipping from the Sierra Sun.

So, Patty Brooke? We at LTOL think you won because you just tried something so hats off to you and congragulations for following your dream!! I know I am in awe and impressed with doing something/anything like that, and we hope next time the judges/voters/public agree with us.

Well, do you have a website?

In today's economy no one in any type of business can afford not to have a website. Now that being said you also have to ask yourself what type of website do you want and what do you want the website to do?

Lot of questions eh?

Do you want your website of www.callme.com to get you more phone calls? Do you want clients not to spend an hour reading a bunch of business jargon that really confuses them, when really you can tell them everything they need to know in 10 minutes? Then you need a simple and what we will call a 'brochure' website.

Is your website meant to sell things with a shopping cart? Where people give you their credit card and you ship them something? That would be an 'interactive' website.

Do you really just want a website that is for internal use for your company where all the important links, servers, and things that your employees need to get to all in one spot and able to be accessed from anyplace that has an internet connection? That is a "Portal" website.

Are you a real estate broker/agent? Do you want to stand out from the crowd? I have a favorite story about this: One of our educators here at LTOL was at an event where someone was selling their services for website development and website optimization, this person said "I can make your website, I can make everyone's website in this room show up on the first page, the top 10 on a Yahoo or Google search." This was amusing to the LTOL person since there were 11 people in the room. You do the math.

Now, let us face facts. We can't, we don't know of anyone that can "Guarantee" any type of results with a website, seriously if they could? They wouldn't be sharing it with anyone they would be making websites for Amazon.com and making millions of dollars. What we do is what the experts say, what we have found does work and we assist you in getting the most bang for your buck. We assist you, we help with your development, we train you, and we do it for often less then half the price of those in the area. So, if you want a friendly, workable, easy to edit website that does what YOU want it to do, not what you are told it will do? Give us a call at 530-582.2080 or visit our website at www.ltol.com or email us at support@ltol.com
